Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification, employees are paid according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
until June 30, 2025. The employment period is governed by the Fixed-Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position offers the possibility of obtaining an additional academic qualification (e.g. an habilitation thesis).
The objective of the Horizon Europe REDEMOS project is to develop a new concept of democratic cooperation between the EU and the countries of the eastern neighbourhood, which above all takes greater account of the local population and the non-governmental level. The network has a strong representation of practitioners and researchers from Eastern Europe. The project, based at TUD, will focus on the interplay of EU democracy promotion and political conditions and dynamics in selected Eastern European countries.
- Scientific research activities with the aim of developing concepts as well as policy recommendations based on theory and empiricism
- preparation of policy documents
- publication of results and presentation at scientific congresses
- support at scientific events
- collaboration with network partners.
- very good university degree and doctorate in the field of political science or a related (sub-)discipline
- in-depth knowledge in the field of Eastern European studies, as evidenced by the doctoral thesis and publications
- very good command of at least one Eastern European language
- very good command of English
- a high degree of autonomy, commitment and team spirit.
- Knowledge of EU democratic politics desirable.
